Sound Aircraft Services is an aviation company providing ground services to aircraft as a Fixed Base Operator (FBO).
As a Ramp Coordinator, you will serve as the central communication and coordination point between line service, customer service, and flight crews to ensure safe, efficient, and well-organized ramp operations.
Responsibilities
Coordinate aircraft arrivals and departures to ensure smooth ramp operations.
Serve as the primary communication link between Line Service Technicians, Customer Service Representatives, and supervisors on duty.
Monitor ramp activity to ensure safe aircraft movement and proper spacing.
Assign and prioritize ramp tasks based on operational needs and aircraft schedules.
Communicate clearly and concisely via radio with aircraft crews, coworkers and airport personnel.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, ramp protocols, and operational standards.
Support fueling, towing, parking, and ground handling coordination as required.
Assist with resolving operational issues or conflicts on the ramp in real time.
Maintain situational awareness of weather, traffic flow, and operational constraints.
Document operational notes, incidents, or deviations as required.
Interact professionally with flight crews, passengers, and coworkers.
Coordinate with other company departments (Customer Service & Line Service).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Sound Aircraft Services offers a full training program to ensure employees can maintain our safety and operational standards.
Must pass all pre-employment drug/alcohol screens, background and security checks, and prove eligibility for employment in the United States.
High School Diploma required; college preferred.
Prior aviation, ramp, dispatch, or operational coordination experience preferred.
Valid state driver’s license required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure.
Excellent situational awareness and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable using radios, computers, and basic operational software.
Physical Demands
Primarily an operational support position with limited time spent on the ramp.
Exposure to loud, dynamic work environments and outdoor weather conditions.
May require walking long distances and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions
Fast-paced aviation environment with indoor and limited outdoor duties.
Daily exposure to aircraft noise, exhaust fumes, fuel vapors, and weather conditions.
After-hours operational responsibilities may be required based on staffing and operational needs.
