MIPPS is seeking an
Interior Designer to join our growing team. This position reports directly to the Director of Interior Design and offers remote work with travel requirements. The ideal candidate will be located in
Fayetteville, NC or within a 165-mile radius to support our clients’ needs effectively. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong design skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be a talented Interior Designer, passionate about creating environments for all user groups.
- Be responsible for taking project from conception through completion with direct user contact.
- Demonstrate experience in client interviews and presentation; concept development; budgeting; materials development; sourcing; specification; space planning; understanding of construction documents; drawing preparation; project advertisement; bidding; implementation; installation and punch.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in team environment with large diverse groups of stake holders.
- Develop and/or adhere to stringent finish and furnishings standards.
- Juggle several projects under tight schedules and deadlines.
- Experience in assembling professional color boards.
- Occasional proposal writing and subcontractor interview.
- Able to work independently (virtual) as well as in a team environment.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug testing.
Education and/or Experience:
- 5 minimum years of experience in commercial interior design.
- Experience in Department of Defense, federal and/or Army design preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture.
- NCIDQ certified, preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of commercial furniture brands and specifications (furniture dealership experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, TEAMS.
- Knowledge of building codes, accessibility codes, furnishing codes, and egress codes.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Government JSN.
