This role is based in Northeast Indiana across 4-5 airport locations with Sweet Aviation.

Sweet Aviation operates services out of multiple airports in Northeast Indiana including Part 61 & Part 141 flight training, Part 145 aircraft maintenance and avionics services, FBO facilities and Part 135 charter flights. Sweet Aviation has been in business since 2011 and continues to expand its presence in existing and new market segments.
OVERVIEW OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The Avionics Technician will emulate the Sweet Aviation core values of Honor, Humility, Helpfulness, Happiness (positive mindset), and Hungry to improve and grow in the role. They will be responsible for supporting the safe, legal, and economical maintenance operation of company owned or managed customer aircraft to the highest standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Read and understand complex electrical drawings and schematics
● Troubleshoot, repair, and test avionics and instrument systems on various airframes.
● Experience using basic hand tools, aircraft test equipment and electrical test equipment
● Properly document work completed in accordance with appropriate technical data and Sweet Aviation approved procedures
● Accompany flight crews to perform in-flight testing as well as preliminary avionics and instrument systems testing as required
● Communicate and interact professionally with customers to educate or answer questions regarding technical aspects within area of expertise
● Travel to customer locations to perform essential job functions
● Support the AOG Team as required with Avionics and Electrical troubleshooting
● Complete all training requirements schedule by Sweet Aviation
● Maintain accurate and complete time records
● Other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
● Associate Degree, Bachelor's degree, preferred or equivalent experience
● Current FAA Aircraft and PowerPlant Mechanics license, required
● Avionics Experience required
● Experience in working and supporting other aviation team members
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Must be able to meet strict deadlines for operational requirements
● Pass a Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
