- Safely load, unload, and transport baggage and cargo using appropriate equipment such as trolleys, carts, or forklifts while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Organize baggage in designated areas, ensuring proper stacking and storage to optimize space and accessibility.
- Conduct thorough inspections of luggage for security purposes in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Assist passengers with their luggage needs, providing excellent customer service with clear communication in multiple languages including English and Haitian Creole.
- Operate mechanical equipment such as forklifts or conveyor belts safely and efficiently to move heavy or bulky items.
- Manage materials handling tasks with precision, including sorting, labeling, and documenting baggage movements.
- Maintain organizational standards by keeping work areas clean, orderly, and compliant with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to meet tight schedules and ensure punctual baggage processing for flights.
- Follow all aviation safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents or damage during handling operations.
- Support logistics coordination by tracking baggage flow and reporting any irregularities or delays promptly.
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, materials handling, or aviation baggage services is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong management skills with experience supervising or leading teams is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment such as forklifts or conveyor systems is highly desirable.
- Multilingual abilities are beneficial; fluency in English is required, while proficiency in Haitian Creole is an advantage for effective communication with diverse passengers and team members.
- Valid commercial driving license or experience operating heavy machinery like forklifts enhances your candidacy.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with organizational abilities ensure efficient teamwork and customer interactions.
- Basic math skills are necessary for accurate documentation and baggage counting procedures.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations related to baggage handling ensures compliance with industry standards.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing physically demanding tasks is essential.
