Description:This position is for a Mid-level Technician whose primary assignment will consist of engineering hardware fabrication support, troubleshooting, testing and laboratory operations responsibility, particularly in the area of military fiber optics. Performing Fiber Optic terminations and Fiber Optic repair is the primary job role. Candidate must be able to travel and be able to work on or around military aircraft. The ability to learn and operate fiber optic termination equipment and fiber optic test equipment. Some climbing on ladders may be required as well as lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing and pulling electronic equipment on carts, and working on test stations. These responsibilities will include fabrication of fiber optic and copper wire harnesses, electronic/electrical chassis and subassembly panels, mechanical rack fabrication, and various modifications to mechanical racks and electronic test stations using development engineering drawings. Ability to visualize and build electronic racks with minimal defects and little to no supervision. Candidate must be capable of working independently and in a team environment and discussing technical issues with customers and Build Leads. Candidate should be able to assist with training junior technicians.
This position may be required to work Odd Shifts, Weekends, or traveling Off Site.
Basic Qualifications:Experience with all types of Fiber Optics termination, Hand Soldering, and Cable fabrication.
Experience with Basic Electronic knowledge and Electrical Schematic interpretation.
Desired Skills:Fiber Optic termination, assembly, and basic understanding of fiber optic repair and troubleshooting. Hot Air Soldering. Electronic troubleshooting on test equipment, on aircraft, and in lab environments. The ability to learn and operate fiber optic test equipment.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
