We are seeking a Safety and Compliance Manager to oversee our trucking transportation operations and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of FMCSA regulations and industry best practices for trucking transportation. They will work closely with the operations team to ensure that all drivers and equipment meet safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for all trucking transportation operations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable FMCSA regulations, including driver qualification, hours of service and vehicle maintenance requirements
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of equipment, facilities, and driver performance to identify potential hazards and compliance issues
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure that all drivers are properly trained and equipped to operate safely
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Maintain accurate records of all safety and compliance activities, including driver training and qualifications, vehicle inspections, and incident reports
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry best practices related to trucking transportation safety and compliance
- Provide training and support to other employees in safety and compliance topics
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trucking transportation safety and compliance management
- Extensive knowledge of FMCSA regulations and industry best practices for trucking transportation
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel as needed to various company locations
- Certification in safety and compliance management preferred
