Position Summary: Motivated and detail-oriented early-career professional with a strong foundation in project scheduling, coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. Supports project and program managers in managing timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring seamless project execution. Demonstrates a commitment to learning and growing within the aerospace program management environment through hands-on support and proactive engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Schedule Development & Maintenance: Assist project and program managers in building and updating integrated master schedules (IMS), identifying task dependencies, and tracking milestone progress.
- Monitor Project Performance: Support the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs), schedule variances, and deliverable timelines to ensure alignment with program goals.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze project data to support decision-making, generate dashboards and reports, and provide insights on cost, schedule, and resource utilization.
- Documentation & Communication: Maintain project documentation including charters, plans, and status reports.
- Risk & Issue Tracking: Help identify potential risks or delays, document mitigation strategies, and support issue resolution efforts.
- Tool & Process Support: Use project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint, JIRA) to update schedules, track progress, and improve workflow efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in post-project reviews, recommend process enhancements, and contribute to the development of PMO best practices.
- Project Support: Small-scale projects may be assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or Aviation Management or comparable industry experience.
- Knowledge of project phases and familiarity with supporting tasks in both Agile and traditional settings.
- Understanding of task tracking and timeline updates using Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Able to track milestones, deadlines, and basic project metrics with guidance.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA; familiar with SharePoint and MS Project.
- Capable of compiling data and generating simple charts or summaries for project updates.
- Strong written and verbal communication; experience preparing notes, meeting summaries, and basic reports.
- Attentive to identifying potential delays or blockers and escalating them appropriately.
- Team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification or equivalent
- Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience in an aviation environment.
- Knowledge of budget development, scope management, and risk assessment.
- CAPM certification or equivalent aviation project management training
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel as required, less than 10%
- Must be able to sit for extended periods, use a computer and telephone, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to obtain Security clearance
- Ability to produce work authorization documentation
Working Conditions
- Normal Business Hours 8-5 EST, schedule can differ due to business needs or requirements
