Position Summary:
The Planner of Materials is responsible for the movement, procurement, and inventory management of critical components across the organization.
This role oversees the proper allocation of funds by coordinating with accounting to issue purchase orders (PO's) for In-house parts inventory. The Planner of Materials serves as the primary point of contact for vendors, managing relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring compliance with contracted discounts and agreements.
Additionally, this position provides oversight of the maintenance department's FedEx accounts, ensuring efficient shipping, cost control, and timely delivery of materials.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Support and implement strategic plans to optimize materials management processes and procedures.
- Oversee the sourcing and procurement of materials, ensuring the best quality and pricing are obtained.
- Manage inventory control systems to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and avoid stockouts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.
- Implement and maintain efficient distribution channels to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
- Lead and develop a team of materials management professionals, providing coaching and guidance to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare and analyze reports on materials management metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance materials management processes.
- Identify and pursue revenue opportunities tied to key core components, while driving cost savings across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including safety and environmental guidelines.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and MRO/ERP software systems (e.g., Corridor, CorridorPlus, or Traxxall).
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft Materials management
- At least 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft components, FAR requirements, and logistics.
- Working knowledge of FAA Part 135 and component compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and MRO/ERP software systems (e.g., Corridor, CorridorPlus, or Traxxall.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
