The Aircraft Parts Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the procurement, inventory, storage, and distribution of aircraft parts and supplies for a private jet charter company. This role ensures timely availability of parts to support aircraft maintenance operations while maintaining compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily operations of the parts room and inventory system.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to fulfill part requirements for scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
- Ensure parts are properly logged, stored, and tracked in accordance with manufacturer specifications and FAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Work with vendors to source parts, negotiate pricing, and track deliveries to meet maintenance schedules.
- Monitor shelf-life and expiration of time-sensitive components and materials.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all parts, including certificates of conformance and airworthiness.
- Supervise shipping and receiving of aircraft parts, including inspection of incoming goods.
- Oversee core returns and warranty claim processing.
- Implement and maintain safety protocols within the parts department.
- Train and lead parts clerks or assistants, as applicable.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Parts experience mandatory.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations related to parts handling and traceability.
- Familiarity with Part 135 operations and private aviation preferred.
- Proficiency in aviation inventory software (e.g., CAMP, Quantum, or similar systems).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Valid driver’s license; forklift certification a plus.
Working Conditions:
- May require occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Work performed in both office and hangar environments.
