Supply Chain Planner (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary:
This position plays a critical role in managing the flow of materials and coordinating logistics operations that support large-scale infrastructure deployments across multiple regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless coordination between warehouses, transportation providers, and operational teams to maintain on-time delivery performance for mission-critical equipment and materials. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can independently manage complex, multi-region shipping workflows while maintaining accurate documentation and proactively identifying potential risks. The position demands strong organizational capabilities, the ability to track numerous concurrent shipments across international borders, and expertise in navigating global freight operations. Working within a fast-paced environment, this individual will serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external logistics partners to ensure operational excellence in material delivery and inventory management.
Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between departments and external partners according to established schedules

Examine documents, materials, and work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications

Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements and establish material priorities

Prepare and manage international trade documentation, customs workflows, and compliance requirements for cross-border shipments

Track global shipments across multiple regions and transportation modes, identifying and resolving exceptions proactively

Coordinate with third-party logistics providers to manage multimodal freight routing and ensure optimal delivery performance

Record production data including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures

Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet operational demands

Compile and distribute reports on inventory levels, shipment status, cost metrics, and operational performance

Monitor warehouse operations and transportation execution to maintain service level agreement timelines

Identify risks to delivery schedules and implement corrective actions to maintain operational continuity

Support operational logistics planning and warehousing coordination across North and South America
Requirements:
-
2-4 years of logistics experience with direct ownership of international shipping operations
-
2-4 years of expertise preparing trade documents, tracking global shipments, managing customs workflows, and resolving exceptions

2-4 years of hands-on experience with warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, third-party logistics coordination, and multimodal freight routing

Demonstrated experience managing broader multi-region or international shipping operations beyond single-state or limited regional scope

Verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail

Problem solving and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration

Ability to analyze costs related to logistics, labor, and materials

Ability to accurately document and record operational information

Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to international shipping and trade compliance

Proficiency with warehouse management systems and transportation management systems

Experience coordinating with third-party logistics providers

Capability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize competing demands

Self-management skills with ability to work independently in remote environments
