The Aircraft Structural Technician III role is responsible for performing advanced structural maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft components. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise in sheet metal and structural systems, the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex issues, and strict adherence to regulatory and company standards.
Aircraft Structural Technician III serves as a technical resource within the shop, supporting workflow efficiency, quality standards, and knowledge sharing among team members. All work is performed in compliance with Airside MRO policies, FAA regulations, and OSHA safety requirements to ensure operational excellence and airworthiness. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support departmental objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform advanced structural maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft components
- Inspect structural components to identify cracks, corrosion, fatigue, or other defects
- Interpret and apply Component Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, drawings, and technical specifications
- Install, fabricate, and repair sheet metal and structural assemblies to approved standards
- Diagnose structural discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Maintain accurate and complete maintenance documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
- Support workflow coordination to ensure efficient task completion and adherence to deadlines
- Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to junior technicians as needed
- Verify workmanship meets quality, safety, and airworthiness standards
- Follow all FAA, Airside MRO, and OSHA regulations while performing maintenance activities
- Assist with audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced understanding of aircraft structural systems, materials, and repair techniques
- Strong working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and structural assembly procedures
- Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and engineering drawings
- Proficiency with inspection tools and structural repair equipment
- High attention to detail with superior craftsmanship standards
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex structural issues
- Working knowledge of maintenance documentation requirements and regulatory compliance
- Ability to support team productivity and share technical knowledge
- Strong time management and organizational skills

FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
This position is subject to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) drug and alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 40 and Part 120.
