Position Summary
The Master Scheduler is responsible for day-to-day production scheduling and execution across stamping, fabrication, welding, and secondary operations. This role converts the Master Production Schedule into detailed, executable shop schedules and actively manages priorities, constraints, and changes using Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
The Master Scheduler is the operational “air traffic controller” of the plant—ensuring work flows efficiently, materials are available, and customer commitments are met.
Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling & Execution
- Build and maintain daily and weekly production schedules in Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Release, sequence, and reschedule work orders based on capacity, material availability, and priority
- Coordinate scheduling across stamping presses, fabrication cells, welding, and outside processing
- React quickly to disruptions (machine downtime, labor constraints, material shortages)
- Drive schedule adherence and escalate risks proactively
ERP Execution (NAV)
- Execute production orders, schedule changes, and priorities within NAV
- Monitor MRP signals, exception messages, and work order status
- Ensure accurate start/finish dates, work center loads, and order priorities
- Partner with Planning and Operations to maintain accurate routings and lead times
Material & Constraint Management
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Inventory to ensure material availability
- Identify shortages early and support expediting efforts
- Align outside processing schedules with internal production plans
- Minimize downtime caused by material or scheduling gaps
Shop Floor Coordination
- Serve as the primary scheduling interface between Production Supervisors, Planning, and Operations
- Participate in daily production meetings and tier reviews
- Communicate schedule changes clearly and in real time
- Support supervisors with sequencing and priority decisions
Performance Metrics
- Track and drive improvement in:
- Schedule Adherence
- On-Time Delivery
- WIP Levels
- Throughput
- Past Due Orders
- Support root cause analysis for missed schedules
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of production scheduling experience in metal fabrication, stamping, or manufacturing
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) for production execution
- Strong understanding of routings, work centers, and shop sequencing
- Ability to manage frequent changes and competing priorities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience in high-mix, make-to-order manufacturing
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
- APICS certification (CPIM) a plus
- Strong Excel skills

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
