General Job Description
Under limited supervision, the Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) Safety Management System (SMS) Manager provides guidance and direction for planning, implementation, and operation of Myrtle Beach International Airport’s SMS. As a member of MYR’s Operations Team, the SMS Manager will also assist with the daily operation of Horry County’s four airports. The SMS Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and Airfields. This position requires flexibility due to the unknown nature of safety events and seasonal fluctuation of MYR’s flight schedule. The work schedule for this position includes days, evenings, weekends and Holidays.

Position Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aviation Safety Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience to fulfill the job responsibilities. Experience in a civil or military aviation environment is desired, along with familiarity with 49 CFR 1542. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Ability to acquire a South Carolina driver’s license at time of hire. Pass a pre-employment physical to include drug test. Must pass a ten-year criminal history background check.
