We are seeking an experienced and motivated A&P Mechanic who takes pride in safety, quality workmanship, and keeping our fleet flying safely and efficiently.
Position Summary
The A&P Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and returning aircraft to service in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidance, and AFI maintenance standards. This role works closely with flight operations to maximize aircraft availability while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
- Complete 50-hour, 100-hour, annual, and progressive inspections.
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical, electrical, engine, fuel, hydraulic, brake, and avionics systems.
- Perform engine removals, installations, and component replacements.
- Document all maintenance performed in accordance with FAA regulations.
- Ensure all maintenance records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
- Coordinate aircraft grounding and return-to-service decisions.
- Perform pre-purchase and post-maintenance inspections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility.
- Assist with inventory management and parts ordering.
- Coordinate with vendors and outside repair stations.
- Support aircraft repositioning and operational needs when necessary.
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with instructors, dispatch, and operations to minimize aircraft downtime.
Qualifications Required
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Professional communication skills
Preferred
- Inspection Authorization (IA)
- Experience with:
- Cessna 172
- Piper Cherokee
- Beechcraft Bonanza
- Beechcraft Baron
- Diamond Aircraft
- General aviation flight school experience
- Familiarity with digital maintenance tracking systems
- Avionics installation or troubleshooting experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to work in hangar and outdoor environments
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working on ladders and maintenance stands
Schedule
- Full-time
- Occasional evenings and weekends as operational needs require
- On-call support may be required
Pay: $31.17 - $37.54 per hour
