Private On-Call Pilot – Malibu Meridian
We are seeking an experienced, safety-focused Private Pilot to operate a Malibu Meridian aircraft and provide reliable aviation support for a private owner. This position requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, flexibility, and availability to accommodate changing travel needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical flying skills, sound judgment, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to remain calm and decisive in changing weather conditions or unexpected situations. The pilot will travel with the owner as needed and may assist with additional travel-related or aircraft-related responsibilities as mutually agreed upon.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and navigate the Malibu Meridian aircraft for private domestic and potentially international travel.
- Plan and manage flights, including routes, fuel requirements, airport coordination, and alternate flight plans.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections.
- Monitor aircraft condition and coordinate necessary maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Review weather conditions, airspace restrictions, airport conditions, and other operational factors before and during each flight.
- Make appropriate adjustments to flight plans based on weather, safety concerns, or changes in the owner’s schedule.
- Respond professionally and effectively to in-flight emergencies or unexpected operational issues.
- Ensure all flights comply with applicable FAA regulations, safety procedures, and aircraft operating requirements.
- Maintain accurate flight logs, maintenance records, expense documentation, and other required records.
- Coordinate with airports, fixed-base operators, maintenance providers, and other aviation professionals.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, readiness, and overall presentation of the aircraft.
- Provide professional and discreet service to the owner and passengers.
- Remain available for on-call travel and schedule changes, including occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and extended trips.
- Assist with other aviation, travel, or owner-support responsibilities as mutually agreed upon.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial pilot certificate and all required ratings, endorsements, and medical certifications.
- Proper qualifications and demonstrated competency to operate a Malibu Meridian or comparable turbine aircraft.
- Prior experience operating a Malibu Meridian, Piper Meridian, or similar aircraft is strongly preferred.
- Excellent aircraft-handling, navigation, and flight-planning skills.
- Ability to safely operate in varying weather and airport conditions.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations, aviation safety standards, and emergency procedures.
- Sound judgment and the ability to analyze complex situations and make timely decisions.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance and mechanical systems is highly preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively with the owner.
- Flexible availability and willingness to accommodate an on-call schedule.
- Professional appearance, discretion, reliability, and respect for the owner’s privacy.
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus but are not required.
- Be based in Orange County, Chino or within a 45-minute driving range from OC.
