Delta Computer Solutions inc www.deltacs.com is seeking a Part-Time Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Safety Specialist / Outreach Specialist, to assist us with our ongoing NASA Aviation Safety Reporting Systems (ASRS) work at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California.
Responsibilities
- Perform full form analysis on unmanned aircraft system (UAS) confidential close call reports and screen for safety events with an eye for criticality of UAS related safety events
- Work closely with UAS team lead to conduct outreach activities such as phone calls, emails, and provide presentations on UAS safety reports and the NASA Aviation Safety Reporting System Program
- Create PowerPoint slide decks / conduct data pulls from database to generate excel charts for PPT slides
Desirable skills:
- Total of 10 years of combined aviation operational experience (preferred) as FAA Part 107 Certified Pilot (required)
- Experience with a minimum of a private pilot certificate with instrument training in Part 91, Part 121, or Part 135 experience (desired), or Air Traffic Control experience at ARTCC, TRACON, or tower, combination, or Airframe/Powerplant or ATP Certified Technician. Less years of experience will be considered.
- Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to successfully complete a background investigation required to obtain NASA badge
- Ability to work remotely or in an office as required.
- Must be able to commute locally to the work facility in Mountain View, CA. Currently this position is a remote position, but if expected to return to work, relocation will be required and relocation services are not available.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum combined 10 years of experience in the following operational areas (preferred): UAS, commercial airline, general aviation, air traffic control, maintenance and/or cabin operations.
- Minimum of 3 years UAS flying experience (various configurations and/or various manufacturers preferred). Knowledge of UAS aircraft and systems a plus. Knowledge of various UAS operations a plus (agriculture, photography, mapping/surveying, etc)
- B.S. degree preferred in relevant domain field or relevant experience

Hours:
Flexible Hours Monday – Friday, and Weekends. Hours can fluctuate based on employee’s availability.
Compensation:
DOE. Compensation includes company profit share of 4% per pay check.
