GovCIO is currently hiring for Aviation Training Division Pilot Instructor to provides classroom and simulator instruction. This position will be located in Milton, FL, and will be an onsite position.
ResponsibilitiesThe NITC ATD Pilot Instructor provides classroom and simulator instruction to international military students using established NITC curricula. The instructor supports primary and advanced aviation training at NAS Whiting Field and contributes operational military aviation experience to a demanding, multicultural learning environment.
Responsibilities
• Provide pilot instruction to international military students at NAS Whiting Field using existing NITC curricula.
• Coordinate instructional activities with other organizations located on the installation.
• Serve as a simulator instructor on T-6B, TH-57, and TH-73 training devices, as assigned.
• Teach navigation, instrument, aircraft systems, cockpit procedures, and related aviation subject matter within the instructor's qualifications.
• Review and maintain assigned curricula and submit recommended updates at the conclusion of each course.
• Maintain accurate instructional and student records and provide associated administrative support required by the task order.
QualificationsBachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
- Clearance Required: None
- Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of experience in the aviation field.
- At least 1,000 flight hours, 400 hours of flight experience, 250 pilot-in-command hours, and 75 hours of night flying.
- Prior active-duty service in the U.S. Armed Forces as a designated military pilot, flight instructor, and aircraft commander.
- Experience with TACAN, VOR/DME, and Global Positioning System navigation and approaches.
- Knowledge of Department of War aviation rules and regulations or experience instructing comparable military courses.
- Ability to communicate clearly and instruct students from varied military and cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Completion of Instructor Under Training, a military instructor training course, Flight Instructor Training Course, and Aircrew Coordination Training.
- Training or instructional experience with T-34 or T-6 fixed-wing systems and TH-57 rotary-wing systems.
- Experience with cockpit-orientation trainers, flight simulation, fixed- and rotary-wing basic and radio instruments, airways navigation, helicopter tactical procedures, and aircrew coordination.
- Current or prior FAA qualifications applicable to civilian private-pilot flight or visual flight rules ground-school instruction.
