Job Summary:
Strategic Enterprise Solutions, Corporation (SESC) is seeking an entry-level Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician to join our Warner Robins, Georgia operation, supporting Special Operations Forces Personnel Recovery (SOF/PR) aircraft and state-of-the-art mission systems.
This hands-on role focuses on bench-level fabrication, assembly, and repair of structural aircraft components used in military aviation. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience working on military or commercial aircraft structures and a strong interest in developing a long-term career in defense aerospace maintenance, modification and manufacturing.
All necessary tools will be provided by the company, allowing technicians to focus on precision craftsmanship and skill development. Occasional CONUS travel may be required to support aircraft installations, modifications, or field assessments.
Position Summary:
The Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician performs fabrication, assembly, modification, and repair of aircraft structural components in support of SOF/PR aircraft and other specialized aviation platforms.
This entry-level role focuses primarily on shop and bench-level projects, where technicians will produce or modify parts using Level 3 engineering drawings, DoD technical publications, work instructions or 3D model-based definition information. Work may include close coordination with production engineers and seasoned technicians to ensure all parts meet precise tolerances and mission standards. Ability to use Solidworks, Catia, AutoCAD or other 3D software a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bench-level fabrication and assembly of aircraft structural parts such as brackets, panels, frames, doublers, and subassemblies.
- Support structural modifications and upgrades for SOF/PR-configured aircraft and advanced mission systems.
- Cut, form, bend, drill, fit, and rivet sheet metal components in accordance with approved instructions and engineering drawings.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with DoD and OEM standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and senior mechanics during prototype builds and structural integration work.
- Utilize appropriate shop tools and equipment for precision fabrication (hand, pneumatic, and machine tools).
- Maintain accurate production and quality control documentation.
- Adhere to all aircraft safety, security, and cleanliness standards.
- Support occasional short-term travel to military bases within the continental U.S. (CONUS) for installation, modification or inspection assistance.
- Uphold a professional work ethic consistent with national defense mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of aircraft sheet metal experience on military or commercial airframes (repair, modification, or fabrication).
- Basic proficiency with hand tools, drills, rivet guns, measuring devices, and layout tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, or work instructions.
- Familiarity with proper use of PPE, safety standards, and aircraft shop procedures.
- Knowledge of basic structural repair methods and material forming techniques.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (Secret level may be required).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work on elevated platforms, and handle repetitive tasks with precision.
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and commitment to teamwork.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily indoor, bench-level work in a small business aircraft system integration, maintenance and fabrication facility near Robins Air Force Base.
- Occasional travel to CONUS military bases to support installation or technical assistance.
- Exposure to moderate noise, vibration, industrial equipment, and hazmat typical of an aircraft maintenance environment.
- Overtime or weekend work may be required based on project timelines.
- Adherence to all safety, environmental, and security procedures is mandatory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
