Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Orlando, FL.
The successful candidate will demonstrate highly innovative approaches to resolve difficult production and design issues. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting production and development teams, resolving technical challenges, incorporating engineering changes, updating drawings and assembly parts lists, and developing new designs and tooling. The candidate will support hardware operations and may provide support to engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations, as well as supplier support.
Basic Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree with a strong academic record.
Proficiency in CAD design tools, such as PTC Creo, 3DX/CATIA, Solidworks, MATLAB, etc.
Demonstrated successful group collaboration and/ or individual project work, ideally in an mechanics or design areas.
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to get a security clearance.
Desired Skills:
Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs)
Exposure to GD&T, sketching, technical drawing standards, or similar hands-on hardware support.
Basic FEA/CFD exposure (ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL) or willingness to learn.
Participation in engineering clubs, competitions (e.g., SAE, ASME competitions).
Basic understanding of industry standards (ISO, ASME, ASTM).
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Active clearance.
