job description
- Assist with repairs and scheduled maintenance on aircraft airframes, engines, and systems under supervision of our lead mechanic's on aircraft such as Cessna 100 series, Piper 28 and 32 series and Cirrus SR series aircrafts.
- Support the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of aircraft components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Learn to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to avionics, electrical systems, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical or electrical issues to identify underlying problems and support corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed using Computerized Maintenance Systems.
- Support equipment repair tasks including welding, soldering, calibration with ammeters or ohmmeters, and heavy lifting as needed for assembly or repairs.
- Assist with tasks around the airport such as aircraft relocation, aircraft fueling, aircraft cleaning and general airport grounds repairs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; pursuing technical training or certifications in aviation maintenance is preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and general aviation safety practices.
- Electrical experience or background in avionics systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments involving aircraft components.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, vehicle maintenance, or military aviation maintenance is advantageous.
