Duties
- Install, wire, and integrate avionics systems using schematics, CAD drawings, and technical manuals.
- Conduct detailed inspections of electrical and mechanical components utilizing precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Perform root cause analysis on system malfunctions to identify underlying issues and implement effective repairs.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and sheet metal fabrication techniques to assemble and modify components.
- Follow strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), AS9100 quality standards, and aircraft maintenance procedures to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to fabricate or modify parts using AutoCAD or CATIA CAD software for precise design implementation.
- Conduct equipment repair and maintenance on avionics systems while maintaining detailed records within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Support aircraft maintenance activities by integrating avionics into airframes and ensuring all installations meet safety and operational standards.
- Perform calibration of precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, ohmmeters, and ammeters to guarantee measurement accuracy during installation processes.
- Assist in conducting schematic reviews and verifying wiring diagrams to ensure correct system integration.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with avionics systems installation or aircraft maintenance; military background is a plus.
- Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge related to aircraft or vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, CAD drawings (AutoCAD or CATIA), and technical manuals aligned with aviation standards.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, welding, soldering, and equipment repair.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines accurately.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), AS9100 quality standards, and aviation safety protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with experience in root cause analysis for complex electrical or mechanical issues.
