Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Avionics and Electrical Technician to join our dynamic aerospace maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for wiring and assembling new avionics systems to ship to customers and install in aircraft on site. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of aircraft components, adhering to strict industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities
- Construct and troubleshooting of avionics systems, electrical wiring, schematics, and circuit diagrams using tools such as multimeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments.
- Perform repairs, replacements, and calibrations on avionics equipment, electrical systems, and aircraft components in compliance with FAA regulations, Garmin installation manuals and Bearhawk designs.
- ( Not required) Ability to Utilize CAD software like CATIA and AutoCAD to interpret schematics, create fabrication drawings, and assist in the design or modification of electrical assemblies.
- Use hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, and sheet metal fabrication techniques to assemble or repair aircraft structures and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for compliance tracking.
- Support manufacturing processes by fabricating components from sheet metal or other materials as needed for aircraft assembly or repair projects.
- Ensure all work adheres to federal aviation regulations (FARs), military standards where applicable, and industry best practices for safety and quality assurance.
- Assist in packing and shipment of product.
Skills
- (Preffered) Proficiency with CAD software including CATIA, AutoCAD; ability to interpret complex schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong electrical experience with troubleshooting using multimeters, ohmmeters, ammeters; knowledge of electrical theory is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge related to aircraft airframes, sheet metal fabrication, welding techniques, hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers and other precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with aviation industry standards such as AS9100; understanding of FAA Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) applicable to aircraft maintenance.
- Experience working with avionics systems—installation, troubleshooting, calibration—and vehicle or aircraft maintenance procedures.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis efficiently; excellent problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication techniques using sheet metal and welding equipment.
- Strong communication skills for documenting work accurately within CMMS systems and collaborating across teams.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary. Join us if you’re passionate about aviation technology! - Ability to program CAN protocol is a plus.
- Familiarity with Garmin product line is a plus. G3x, GFC500, GTN navigators, etc.
Experience not required : On the Job training available for those who have a mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
