Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic to join our aviation maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical expertise, with a thorough understanding of aircraft systems, schematics, and regulatory standards such as AS9100 and Federal Aviation Regulations. This role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft to ensure safety, compliance, and optimal performance. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft airframes and powerplant systems in accordance with FAA regulations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and coordinate measuring machines for precise maintenance tasks.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD drawings related to aircraft systems including avionics and electrical components.
- Perform sheet metal fabrication, assembly, equipment repair, and heavy lifting as required for structural repairs or modifications.
- Use CMMS software for maintenance tracking and documentation of all work performed.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting aircraft performance or safety.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections and repairs in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Assist in calibration and testing of aircraft instruments using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes or maintenance procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic with a strong background in aircraft maintenance or similar fields such as vehicle or heavy equipment repair.
- Familiarity with aviation-specific systems including avionics, electrical wiring, sheet metal fabrication, welding techniques, and mechanical assembly.
- Knowledge of schematics, CAD software (AutoCAD), and manufacturing standards such as AS9100 is preferred.
- Experience working with military aircraft or in regulated environments is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repair procedures.
- Strong understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to aircraft maintenance operations. This position requires candidates to be detail-oriented professionals committed to safety standards and regulatory compliance within the aviation industry.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
