Overview
Join our team as an Aircraft Avionics Supervisor and lead the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of sophisticated avionics systems on a variety of aircraft. This pivotal role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational readiness. You will oversee a team of skilled technicians, coordinate complex projects, and uphold rigorous quality standards in a fast-paced aviation environment. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining aircraft airworthiness and supporting our commitment to safety and excellence. To qualify for the highest salary the applicant must have knowledge and experience in avionics suite upgrades and installations.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily avionics maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all regulatory standards including Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Lead troubleshooting efforts using root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve complex avionics issues swiftly, minimizing aircraft downtime.
- Review schematics, wiring diagrams, to support maintenance tasks.
- Manage inventory levels of electrical components, hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, welding supplies, and other essential maintenance materials.
- Ensure all work performed adheres to safety standards related to heavy lifting, vehicle maintenance, aircraft assembly, sheet metal fabrication, welding, soldering, and equipment repair.
- Facilitate training sessions for technicians on new avionics systems, schematics interpretation, manufacturing processes, and compliance with civilian aviation standards.
- Supervise installation and configuration of panel upgrades to a variety of aircraft from single engine piston aircraft to light jets.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in aircraft maintenance with a focus on avionics systems; military background a plus, A&P License highly preferred.
- Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge related to airframe systems and vehicle maintenance.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations (FARs), and general aviation safety protocols.
- Skilled in using precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, micrometers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Hands-on experience with schematic interpretation, equipment repair techniques including soldering and welding.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment requiring heavy lifting and the use of power tools. Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
