JOB SUMMARY:
Manage a high volume of aircraft finance inquiries on a day-to-day basis. Maintain aircraft knowledge relevant to the aircraft our members purchase and our lenders finance. Clearly and concisely communicate with members to help them understand the financing process, answer questions, and work as a broker to help members obtain the best financing option available.
The Account Executive is directly responsible for overseeing the entire process of each application they are assigned, including the initial quote/exploratory phase, application completion and documentation gathering, lender qualification and selection, and providing any assistance necessary to close the transaction once approved.
The Account Executive will also work closely with senior team members and the Director of Credit and Sales to resolve concerns, establish goals, and meet objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Account Executive Job Functions (75%)
Operate as the lead point of contact for any, and all matters specific to assigned files.
Establish ongoing relationships with AOPA members through the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Assist members through the loan process from application to closing by clarifying issues, researching, and exploring answers and alternative solutions, implementing solutions, and escalating unresolved problems.
Consult with members about their current and future aircraft finance needs.
Advise members on aircraft values, including lender requirements and limitations for upgrades, overhauls, and maintenance.
Provide member education and recommend additional services to members.
Administrative (25%)
Maintain task list at a reasonable level as defined in consultation with manager, with focus on completing the high-priority tasks first.
Maintain email inbox to ensure members receive prompt responses and updates.
Manage incoming calls and voice messages, both direct and through group phone queue.
Obtain and maintain knowledge of aircraft and industry.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Two to three years of sales, customer service, or banking experience
Strong interest in finance and general aviation
Proficiency with SalesForce or comparable CRM, Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet
Ability to work in a goal-oriented environment
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
BS or BA degree in finance, business, or comparable work experience
Organized, self-starter, self-motivated, detail oriented and have effective interpersonal skills
Pilot or student pilot certificate
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in an office setting.
Typical working hours are 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break.
Generally, a climate-controlled environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions when attending aviation related events, including exposure to higher altitudes and confined spaces if in a general aviation aircraft.
This position requires some travel, up to 10% of the time, to various general aviation or industry-related events. Travel is by aircraft (general aviation and commercial) and by road or public transit.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands of this position are typical of a standard office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to:
Sit for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in-person, which requires clear speech, hearing, and vision.
Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 15 pounds, such as boxes of materials or equipment.
Occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms during the course of normal office activities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position is located at AOPA’s Frederick, MD, office.
The salary range for this position is: $64,000 - $68,000, depending on education and experience.
