Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Advanced Welding Instructor to lead our welding training programs and elevate the skills of aspiring and experienced welders. In this role, you will deliver engaging instruction, develop comprehensive curricula, and ensure students gain practical expertise in advanced welding techniques. Your expertise will help prepare students for careers in manufacturing, construction, aerospace, automotive repair, HVAC/R systems, and other technical fields requiring precision welding skills. Duties
- Deliver hands-on welding instruction using advanced techniques such as TIG, MIG, stick welding, and plasma cutting to students of varying skill levels
- Develop and update curriculum materials that incorporate industry standards, safety protocols, and emerging technologies in welding and fabrication
- Assess student progress through practical demonstrations, written tests, and project evaluations to ensure mastery of skills
- Incorporate real-world applications related to automotive diagnostics, aircraft maintenance, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, and manufacturing processes into lessons
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by enforcing OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and safety procedures at all times
- Utilize industry-standard tools such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and Blackboard learning management system for instructional delivery and student tracking
- Collaborate with industry partners to align training programs with current workforce demands and certification requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience in advanced welding techniques including TIG, MIG, stick welding, and plasma cutting
- Strong mechanical knowledge across sectors such as automotive repair, aircraft maintenance, HVAC/R systems, construction, manufacturing, plumbing, electrical systems, and maintenance
- Prior classroom experience or adult education teaching background preferred
- Knowledge of industry safety standards including OSHA regulations
- Familiarity with curriculum development tailored for technical trades education
- Ability to teach complex concepts related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automotive diagnostics, HVAC systems (including air conditioning), electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate adult learners and foster a positive learning environment
- Technical proficiency with Blackboard or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course administration
