Job Overview
Must have GA Aviation Experience. Must be licensed A&P. Cover maintenance on the flight schools fleet of light sport aircraft, Piper Cherokee's and Archers. Also, preform 100 hour inspections/annuals and pre buy inspections on dealerships aircraft to get retail ready for sale or lease. Must be well versed in general aviation aircraft. Cessna & Piper primarily.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on aircraft airframes, engines, avionics, and systems in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues using schematics, CAD drawings, and diagnostic tools such as multimeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Perform repairs or replacements of aircraft components utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, sheet metal fabrication techniques, soldering, and precision measuring instruments.
- Utilize computer maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document maintenance activities, track parts inventory, and schedule future inspections or repairs.
- Interpret technical schematics and schematics for electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and structural assemblies to ensure accurate troubleshooting and repair procedures.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards such as AS9100 quality management system requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
- Assist in the assembly or disassembly of aircraft sections or components during maintenance or overhaul projects while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support heavy lifting operations using appropriate equipment while following safety guidelines for personnel protection.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues to improve maintenance processes and reduce downtime through continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience in aviation maintenance
- Strong electrical experience with a solid understanding of avionics systems, schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards including AS9100 quality management system requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
- Knowledge of aircraft structures such as airframes and powerplant systems; ability to interpret CAD drawings using AutoCAD or CATIA software is a plus.
- Experience operating diagnostic tools such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM), ohmmeters, ammeters, voltmeters, ammeters, calipers, micrometers for precise measurements.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during maintenance tasks.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
