Summary
As a line person and maintenance support at Gem Air, LLC, you will play a vital role in our operations, and also act as extra hands for our mechanics. Your priority will be line duties, including fueling, reconfiguring, loading, and cleaning aircraft, and leading fuel truck maintenance, as well as groundskeeping, including mowing lawns and shoveling snow. Your secondary duties will be in the shop, supporting aircraft mechanics as needed with cleaning, errands, opening up aircraft for inspections, and closing them back up.
While your line and fueling duties will be the priority in this position, we prefer candidates who are also interested in apprenticing as an A&P mechanic, and working toward aviation maintenance licenses.
Please note, this is a safety-sensitive position, requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
Responsibilities
- Fuel, clean, reposition, and reconfigure aircraft as needed
- Do basic maintenance on fuel trucks, to include daily checks
- With assistance and direction from DO, coordinate any specialized truck maintenance needed
- Actively promote fuel sales by friendly and professional outreach to incoming non-Gem Air pilots.
- Provide groundskeeping care, to include mowing and snow removal
- Assist maintenance department as needed and directed by DOM, to include cleaning, running errands, taking off panels for inspection, and assisting with maintenance.
- Ensure all tools and equipment used by the position are properly maintained and stored after use.

Schedule: October-May, hours will normally be 5-8hr days/week, M-F 8-4:30 with a 1/2 hour lunch, with some exceptions and very occasional overtime. June-September, you are likely to work 4-10hr days/week, to include at least one weekend day on a weekly basis.
Requirements
- Strong preference for professional mechanical experience
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must be reliable and timely
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to crouch, reach overhead, and climb ladders
