Summary/Objective
The Remote Pilot In Command is responsible for the operation and execution of an end-to-end drone delivery service using the Flytrex drone delivery system. Crew members will receive and fulfill customer orders from local businesses and deliver orders from the fulfillment center to the customer's front/backyard using the drone delivery system. All crew members will develop a full understanding of Part 135 regulations and will ensure operations are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations. Each crewmember must explicitly follow safety and operational protocols, while possessing characteristics of integrity and trustworthiness.

Essential Functions
- Operates UAS system in compliance with Part 135 regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring preflight checklists are completed and takeoff is safe to commence.
- Ensures operational status of all required equipment.
- Monitors multiple sUAS in flight simultaneously
- Works in conjunction with the Ground Support Crewmember to ensure safe operations
- May be required to cross-train as a Ground Support Crewmember and/or Repairman
- Participates in initial and recurrent company training programs
- Daily Remote Ops Control Center set up and breakdown
- Documents daily flight activities and flight logs.
- Conducts operations following strict procedures and checklists.
- Deconflicts ground and air risks based on Part 135 regulations during all operations.
- Coordinates and communicates with the Ground Support Crewmembers as required
- Provides customer service and support to current and future customers.
- Assists with the improvement and efficiencies of current operations.
- Performs public outreach using various means.
- Performs collateral duties as required.

Work Environment
This job operates in an indoor Remote Operations Control Center - primarily in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, radio equipment, mobile phones, electronic tablets, multi-rotor small unmanned aircraft and remote control units.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to operate a vehicle and is required to speak and hear. The team member frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time; run; stand; walk; use hands, handle or feel; kneeling/crouching; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Operations are open 7 days a week. This position requires evening and weekend work.
Travel
Travel is local to the base location. Personal vehicles are used to complete necessary tasks. Mileage is tracked via GPS during the work shift and reimbursed at the current rate published at gsa.gov.
Requirements:
- All team members must possess a Part 107 Certification to commercially operate sUAS.
- Part 135 RPICs must possess a Class III FAA medical certificate
- Part 135 crew members will be subject to pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol screenings.
- Must consent to background and employment history check.
- Valid Driver’s License – Subject to driving record history check prior to employment.
- Part 135 crew members must complete training provided by company Instructors and be qualified by company Check Pilots to a “satisfactory” standard prior to being scheduled for duty.
- Proficiency in Google suite applications.
- Good organization and communication skills, both oral and written, are essential to success in this position. Can develop and deliver clear, concise communications.
- Must be able to work effectively in a collaborative, trusting, flexible, and safety focused environment.
- High School Education or GED Equivalent; Associates Degree or higher is preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age. (This is due to corporate insurance requirements.)
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s Degree in aviation fundamentals; including but not limited to Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Aviation/Aeronautical Science, Engineering or technical fields.
Preferred Certifications/Training
- One (1) to two (2) years’ experience working with RPA or UAS.
- Part 61 pilot experience (Private, Commercial Pilot, CFI, Instrument Rating)
- Completion of:
- Safety Management System (SMS) training in any field
- Crew Resource Management (CRM) training in any field
- Part 135 exposure (even indirect support roles).

Starting at $23-25 per hour (commensurate on experience and credentials)
