Position title: Electronics Technician
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Summary:
Ideal candidates will have excellent skills in collaborative problem solving, the willingness to overcome hardware constraints, and the internal drive to create quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Test and repair electrical systems and components
- Ensure systems and components meet established specifications
- Develop, author, and maintain test procedures for all levels of product assembly based on customer requirements and unit capability
- Develop and author work instructions and travelers, and assembly processes
- Write observation logs and re-work instructions
- Perform operational and acceptance testing for circuit boards, battery packs, battery assemblies, and other avionics hardware for production use and engineering development
- Test, check, and verify test equipment, such as, but not limited to: chambers, power supplies, loads, and vibration
- Troubleshoot failed units from a system-wide level down to an individual component level, work with engineering support to identify root cause and possible design change requirements, and report findings to the quality assurance department
- Document, record, and write reports for environmental testing, storage batteries, and nonconformance reports
- Define test equipment needs and assist in the installation of new test equipment
- Assist in the development and design of automated test equipment
- Oversight of junior team members
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of board troubleshooting, repair, test, or related experience
Required Skills:
- Ability to build power, data I/O and RF cables.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and perform wiring and assembly
- Ability to make electrical measurements in circuits (V, I and Resistance)
- Ability to use Digital Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, and Spectrum Analyzer
- Ability to use thermal cycle, vacuum, vibration, and shock machines
- J-STD-001 soldering on PCB with surface mount and thru hole components
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AS9100D Quality Management System policies and procedures
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio,
SharePoint, etc.)
Education
- Associate in Science degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent training (military, etc)
Preferred Certifications:
- Soldering, J-STD-001with Space Addendum
- IPC-A-600 Acceptability of Printed Circuit Boards
- IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies
ITAR Requirements
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S.Department of State.
Other Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,700.00 - $95,000.00 per year
