Overview
Southern Cross Aviation is a growing international aviation parts distributor serving customers worldwide. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Specialist to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a key role in supporting financial operations, inventory accounting, customer credit management, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Run and analyze financial reports using advanced Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Power Query)
- Support inventory reconciliations, cost-of-goods sold (COGS), and general ledger activity
- Assist with customer credit analysis, including evaluating credit applications and account histories
- Monitor customer balances and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with the sales team
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audits, and proper documentation
- Work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and sales teams to support financial accuracy
- Assist with sales tax nexus tracking and compliance across U.S. states
Skills
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience (aviation or transportation industry a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills required (macros a plus)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, or Sage is a plus
- Working knowledge of sales tax nexus requirements preferred
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
