Overview
Join our dynamic aerospace maintenance team as an A&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization, where your expertise will keep aircraft operating safely and efficiently. This vital role combines hands-on mechanical and electrical work with the authority to perform and approve inspections, ensuring compliance with all aviation standards. Duties
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft airframes, engines, avionics, and related systems in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct detailed root cause analysis to identify issues accurately and develop effective corrective actions.
- Utilize CAD software such as CATIA and AutoCAD to interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation for precise fabrication and repair tasks.
- Execute structural repairs using sheet metal fabrication, welding, soldering, and precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Inspect aircraft components for compliance with AS9100 standards and industry best practices; approve or document non-conformities for further action.
- Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters (ohmmeters), ammeters, and other electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical systems including avionics and power distribution.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities within Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Support equipment repair, calibration, and fabrication efforts for both aircraft-specific systems and manufacturing tools used in maintenance operations.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, welding, electrical work, and the use of power tools to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Qualifications
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license with Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Proven experience in aircraft maintenance, including airframe repair, engine troubleshooting, and avionics systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience; familiar with schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD/CAM software such as CATIA or AutoCAD.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), AS9100 quality standards, and aviation safety procedures.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis efficiently to identify issues accurately during inspections or repairs.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking; experience working within military or commercial aviation environments is a plus.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers; power tools including drills; electrical testing devices like ohmmeters; and heavy lifting equipment when necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail; capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
