JOB The Airport Administrative Supervisor handles supervising, directing and coordinating the daily operations of the airport administration office and staff. This role includes supervising, scheduling, and evaluating the airport office staff, and ferry toll collectors. This position ensures that all airport administration activities run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements, providing a safe and excellent service experience for all passengers, tenants, and stakeholders.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Draft a variety of documents requiring extensive knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet technology and its application to a high production office environment, including correspondence, letters, memoranda, reports, agenda statements, forms, ordinances, resolutions, statistical charts, tables, and various legal documents such as contracts and agreements.
- Assigns work activities and projects, monitors workflow, reviews and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems. Work with and maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive, privileged or confidential personnel, political, and financial information.
- Oversees the accounting of all financial and business management functions.
- Implements programs and administrative systems to aid the Airport Manager with developing strategic initiatives to carry out objectives and goals of the Borough and Airport.
- Implements and develops airport policies and procedures. Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and labor agreements throughout the workforce. Develop and support a productive, principle-based, and creative problem-solving approach to employee and labor relations' issues. May investigate, document, coordinate, and administer disciplinary action as necessary.
- Perform budget management and collaborate with Finance and other pertinent staff to prepare and monitor budgets and expenditures.
- Manage contracts, subleases, and PFC applications and reporting.
- Strong understanding of grant funding, application, tracking, and reporting is necessary.
- Execute leases and subcontracts facilities for airlines, car rental agencies, restaurants, and other tenants. Coordinates with airport tenants on business related matters.
- Provides administrative support on airport capital improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain operational efficiencies. Responsible for the overview and reconciliation of assigned accounts.
- Assist and fill-in for other Airport staff during absences.
- Participate in drills, attend classes, complete all necessary initial emergency medical training, and related training as required by the Borough.
- Establish and support an open and positive working relationship between the Airport office and other departments, employees, the general public, other governmental agencies, tenants and contractors.
- Conducts recruitment and evaluation of assigned airport staff. Recommends hiring and firing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
LICENSES:
Must have a valid driver's license.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. A two-year degree with courses related to public, or business administration, accounting, transportation, or government is strongly desired. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
A minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience. Minimum five (5) years administrative experience with increasing responsibility.
