Job Description
The ROV Pilot Technician is responsible for the operation and support of EverClean robots during Greensea IQ's EverClean ship hull cleaning operations, customer demonstrations, and training events. This role combines technical expertise, field operations, customer engagement, and hands-on vehicle maintenance to ensure the successful deployment and continuous improvement of EverClean services. This individual will play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while providing valuable operational feedback to help drive ongoing product development and system enhancements.
This position is full time with fluctuating hours, as work schedule will be set to some extent by ship's port call schedules, field demonstrations, and training events. This position reports directly to the EverClean Field Service Manager.
Responsibilities
- Operate EverClean remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) through remote connection to field service hubs as well as self-hosted customers.
- Significant travel (both domestic and international) to support demos, sales, and training of the EverClean system to self-hosted customers, as well as in-person cleaning of customer ships.
- Deliver hands-on operator and maintenance training for self-hosted EverClean customers, ensuring long-term operational success.
- Monitor vehicle performance and troubleshoot operational issues to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and operational reports following field activities.
- Perform routine ROV maintenance, inspections, and repair work in the Rockledge depot
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams by documenting field observations, identifying product improvement opportunities, and provide feedback based on real-world operations.
- All other responsibilities as reasonably assigned.
Requirements
- Technical background in engineering or maritime industry and previous experience with ROV's is preferred.
- Familiarity with ROV/AUV operation, controls, user interfaces.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex robotics systems.
- General knowledge of ship hull biofouling, antifouling paints, marine materials and protection, preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally; requires an active TWIC card and passport.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders from management to engineering staff
