Job Description:
As an Cabinet Finish technician you will be responsible for finish processes, including wood finishes of assigned aircraft, varying amounts of gloss and satin applications, and sanding of hardwood as needed to apply finish. Development and completion of aircraft interior cabinet finishes are the primary functions. Job duties will vary by type and scope, as designated by the Finish Team Leader.
Assist with paint and techniques for major modification projects
Identify colors and color matches as needed
Basic knowledge of stains, lacquers, clear coats, etc.
Basic knowledge in chemicals (thinners, catalysts, cleaners, etc.) And safety procedures.
Basic knowledge in paints and spraying equipment
Knowledge of dry sanding and wet sanding, etc.
Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
Cleanliness of shop and surroundings
Work independently when required
Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
A high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not required.
Experience:
Min 2 years of experience in wood finishing processes or related fields such as auto refinishing and collision repair. Aircraft finishing experience is preferred.
