Flight Mechanics (FM)
A full-time position as a traveling A&P mechanic (traveling between 180-240 days per year). This individual must be able to successfully work with little direct supervision, work as a team, and be self-motivated. Flight Mechanics (FM) are able to troubleshoot, repair, and/or modify all aircraft systems. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded, Jack-of-All-trades mechanic with strong mechanical aptitude and common sense. This position is working daily on flying aircraft, not in a heavy check, phase or depot maintenance environment.
Flight Mechanics (FM) must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, and wiring diagrams, including the understanding of symbols, flags, and general notes; and identify aircraft locations by fuselage station, waterline, butt-line, as depicted on engineering drawings, documentation, and technical publications. Additionally, they must possess excellent attention to detail, precision workmanship, manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, approachability, time and performance management, customer service and interaction skills; be proactive and have a collaborative approach to problem-solving; as well as positive communication skills (verbal and written).
The A&P mechanic will perform assigned tasks, assuring quality and safe products are delivered to meet all applicable company, customer, military, and FAA requirements. This includes generally recognized tasks related to the mechanic’s work on or about the aircraft, and support equipment, such as performing maintenance repairs, scheduling, maintaining work areas and inventories, calibrated items, reporting faulty equipment, required paperwork completion, inspections, testing, parts ordering, and maintaining manuals. The A&P will interpret and use various test and measuring equipment, work from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, technical publications, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and maintenance manuals. All maintenance personnel must comply with Omega FOD & Tool Control, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, ITAR, Quality, and Security policies, procedures, and programs. Including the Omega Air, Inc. Ground Operations Procedure Manual (GOPM) requirements.
Job Requirements:
· Responsible for the maintenance and preventive maintenance of aircraft.
· Determines airworthiness of aircraft and components.
· Completes aircraft maintenance form entries and ensures entries are accurate and complete.
· Services and inspects aircraft, components, and related equipment.
· Ensure consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance.
· Follow all Maintenance Department Policies & Procedures.
· Releases aircraft for service.
· Maintains onboard spare parts inventory.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the aircraft Crew Chief / Lead.
Ability to work remotely:
The work associated with this position will be performed offsite at designated locations supporting our customers. The typical travel rotation schedule is approximately 20 days on the road, and 10 days home. However, schedule changes may occur based on tasking levels and maintenance organizational manpower requirements, needs, and priorities. 8+ hours almost every day while traveling.
Basic Qualifications:
· Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
· Position requires a minimum of 4+ years of aircraft maintenance experience with B707 (KC-135, E6B Mercury, AWACS, Joint Stars, etc.), DC-10, MD-10, or KDC-10 aircraft.
· MUST possess an FAA A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) certification
· Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
· Must be able to work long hours on a flight line with exposure to year-round weather climates.
· Must qualify for a military Common Access Card (USS military background investigation required).
· Must be a U.S. citizen.

Pay: $340.00 - $475.00 per day
