Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and other relevant regulations.
- Manage all aspects of corporate accounting functions such as general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, cost accounting, and cash flow analysis.
- Lead risk management initiatives by conducting risk analysis, implementing controls, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations and governmental accounting standards.
- Supervise treasury management activities including investment management, liquidity planning, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Drive financial analysis using data analytics tools to interpret profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and other key financial reports for strategic insights.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on financial projects such as revenue recognition under ASC 606, cost control measures, and financial model development for projections.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations through diligent monitoring of industry knowledge of financial regulations and internal policies.
- Lead the finance team by providing mentorship in areas such as financial report writing, technical accounting practices, and industry-specific financial concepts.
Experience
- Proven experience in finance leadership roles such as Finance Director or Finance Manager with a minimum of several years in a similar capacity.
- Extensive background in accounting systems implementation, Excel data analysis, and the use of financial software for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, governmental accounting practices, and non-profit accounting if applicable.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management, regulatory compliance management, budgeting processes, and strategic planning.
- Familiarity with industry-specific financial regulations along with experience in public accounting or corporate finance environments.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of managing finance teams effectively while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Advanced understanding of financial markets knowledge including investment management principles and cost management strategies.
