TAG Aero is an FAA, EASA and CAA-approved repair station that overhauls and repairs Auxiliary Power Units (APUs). We’re hiring Repair Technicians to take these units apart, find what’s wrong, repair them, and put them back together to exacting standards.
If you’ve worked as a mechanic, gone through an automotive or diesel program, or enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, we’ll train you on the rest.
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, clean, inspect and reassemble APUs and their mechanical components
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems and find the root cause of wear, damage or failure
- Repair or replace parts using hand tools, power tools and shop equipment
- Inspect parts, fasteners, threads and fittings for wear or damage
- Follow repair manuals, work instructions and technical drawings
- Document your work accurately to meet quality and FAA requirements
- Keep a clean, organized and safe work area
Qualifications:
- Hands-on mechanical experience as an automotive, diesel, small engine, equipment or maintenance mechanic, or similar
- Comfort with hand tools, power tools and precision measuring tools
- Enjoys problem-solving and troubleshooting mechanical systems
- Attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures exactly
- Eager to learn and open to coaching
Nice to have (not required)
- Graduate of an automotive, diesel or mechanical technology program (UTI, Lincoln Tech, community college, etc.)
- Engine rebuild or overhaul experience
- Turbine, aviation or A&P coursework
- Experience with broken bolt removal, thread repair, or fabrication
