Minimum Qualifications
- Completed high school or completed a formal armament training course from an accredited military or civilian school.
- Knowledgeable on The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) preferable.
- Minimum of 5 years working with aircraft weapons loading and AME procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of common tools, special tools, hardware and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft armament equipment.
Job descriptions
- Disassembles, repairs, resembles, adjusts, removes, replaces, services, prepares, preserves, cleans, troubleshoots, and performs intermediate maintenance on armament weapons support equipment and aircraft armament equipment.
- Loads and unloads airborne weapons and stores aboard aircraft to include reconfiguration and functional testing of aircraft weapons release and control, and missile systems.
- Procures supplies, prepares reports, and utilizes publications pertinent to aviation ordnance and aircraft armament equipment.
- Conducts functional tests of racks, launchers, adapters and electrical components, aircraft armament circuits and maintains them in an operational status by appropriate preventive maintenance.
- Conducts functional tests of aircraft armament electrical fusing, firing, and release circuits and maintains them in an operational status.
- Inspects and prepares forms and records in accordance with DA PAM 738-751.
- Train host national personnel on the proper maintenance of aircraft armament and related components.
- Responsible for tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor.
