The Job
We are looking for an Implementation & Training Specialist to guide new customers through successful onboarding and adoption of the X-1FBO platform.
This is a hands-on role for someone who has actually used X-1FBO and understands how FBOs operate day to day. You will work directly with owners, managers, and frontline teams to configure workflows, deliver training, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customers are set up for long-term success.
This role is part educator, part problem-solver, and part relationship builder, and it sits at the center of customer success.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on experience, with flexibility for candidates who bring deep X-1FBO expertise, training experience, or leadership background.
Travel
This role involves regular, meaningful travel. Implementation & Training Specialists frequently travel to customer sites for onboarding, training, and go-live support. Travel frequency will vary based on customer demand, project timelines, and individual strengths, but candidates should expect travel to be a consistent part of the role.
If you enjoy being on-site with customers, working directly with FBO teams, and seeing implementations through in person, this role will be a strong fit.
Location
This is a remote role within North America. Preference is given to candidates who live near a major airline hub to facilitate frequent travel to customer sites.
Why This Role
This role sits at the intersection of customers, product, and operations. You will help shape how FBOs implement X-1FBO, influence best practices in the field, and provide direct feedback that helps guide how the platform continues to evolve.
For former operators and power users, this is a chance to step into an influential, high-trust role while staying closely connected to aviation operations.
Required Experience (Non-Negotiable) - Prior hands-on X-1FBO experience is required.
You must have used X-1FBO in an operational FBO environment as a daily user or administrator. If you have not worked directly in X-1FBO, this role will not be a fit.
What We’re Looking For
- Deep understanding of FBO operations and aviation workflows
- Comfort with software, data, and process modernization
- Clear, confident communication skills, including training and presentations
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Collaborative, ego-free approach to teamwork
- High level of ownership, honesty, and accountability
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer onboarding and implementation efforts for X-1FBO
- Work closely with FBO leadership and staff to align the platform with their operations
- Conduct virtual training sessions tailored to each customer
- Review, validate, and help load customer data into the platform
- Guide customers through workflow changes and technology adoption
- Troubleshoot issues with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Build strong, lasting relationships with customers throughout implementation and beyond
What Success Looks Like
First 30 Days
- Learn internal implementation processes, tools, and workflows
- Understand X-1FBO from a configuration and data perspective
- Shadow active implementations and training sessions
- Assist with low-risk tasks such as data review and customer follow-ups
First 60 Days
- Demonstrate working knowledge of major X-1FBO modules from an implementation standpoint
- Coordinate customer data collection and validation
- Assist with data loading and configuration using established procedures
- Co-host portions of virtual training sessions
By 90 Days
- Manage smaller or less complex implementations with guidance
- Lead standard virtual training sessions confidently
- Communicate clearly with customers on timelines and next steps
- Support post–go-live check-ins to ensure adoption and success
About GMSTEK & X-1FBO
GMSTEK is the aviation technology company behind X-1FBO, built by aviation professionals. X-1FBO is a modern operations and payment platform purpose-built for Fixed Base Operators and general aviation.
In an industry that has been slow to change, we focus on practical, production-proven technology that solves real operational problems for FBO teams.
Our Culture
We move fast, think independently, and care deeply about the people we work with. Many of us came from FBOs, ramps, and front desks, so we value real-world experience, direct communication, and ownership.
We hustle, but we protect balance. Our headquarters sits on Biscayne Bay in Miami, with trails, a gym, and a bit of Florida character, including a lake guarded by a pair of crocodiles. Remote team members are always welcome to visit.
Join Us
X-1FBO is scaling quickly, and this role plays a critical part in how customers experience and adopt the platform. If you’ve used X-1FBO, understand FBO operations, and want to make a meaningful impact across the industry, we’d love to talk.
