Title: Aircraft Maintenance Technician – Electrical/Avionics
Location: San Antonio, TX 78226
Duration: 0–9+ Months (Temp to Hire)
Shift: Flexible / Rotating (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
Pay Rate: $40.00/Hour (W2)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform aircraft electrical modifications, wiring, harness assembly, and complex connector terminations (shielded, coaxial, fiber optics) using engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Install, route, bond, seal, tie, inspect, and test electrical systems and wire bundles per DOD, manufacturer, and company standards
- Troubleshoot electrical/environmental system issues; perform bench and flight line testing using precision tools and quality checks
- Follow safety procedures including Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout; ensure proper handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials
- Collaborate with teams, support and train junior staff, lead tasks when required, and manage workload to meet schedules
- Meet physical requirements: climbing, confined spaces, lifting up to 35 lbs (team lifts above 50 lbs), standing, bending, crawling, overhead work
- Work in noisy environments, elevated platforms, use PPE, and meet visual acuity and color perception requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of related electrical experience (or equivalent education + experience)
- Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and theories
- Experience in fabricating, routing, and installing wire bundles (including new aircraft wiring; commercial experience preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts
