Job Summary
The Line Services Technician is responsible for providing fuel, oil, hangar and tie down storage, lavatory service, courtesy car transportation, luggage handling and interior and exterior services to customers and other departments. Additional responsibilities include ramp operations, aircraft cleaning, and other operations as needed. The Director of Maintenance is the Line Service Technician’s immediate supervisor.
Schedule will vary over a 7 day period.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Full-time position at $25.00/hour
- Drive and service fuel trucks and ground support vehicles, service aircraft and ground support vehicles, responsible for operating and filling of fuel trucks; cleaning, servicing, operation, and performing minor maintenance to this equipment.
- Park, tow and store aircraft in accordance to the Company’s Hangar Storage Policy. Directs the movement of aircraft and vehicular traffic on the ramp and hangars. Properly secure all parked aircraft at all times.
- Assist all aircraft crews and passengers by courteously providing services they may require.
- Wash, polish, wax and clean the interior and exterior of Company and / or Managed aircraft, as directed.
- Wash and clean mobile equipment and run local errands. Transport people as required both on and off the airport.
- Police ramp area in and about hangars, lounge areas, shops and auto parking areas of the company.
- Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the areas in and about the Company’s facilities including FBO building, hangar floors, shops, maintenance/administration lobby, maintenance areas, and perform trash removal as required.
- Assist with snow removal as required.
- Responsible for radio and telephone calls. Ensure that information is acted upon or relayed to the proper department or individual.
- Complete necessary receipts, fuel tickets, credit card, in-house accounts and record.
- Receive and account for all sales transactions on the shift.
- Must be available to work varied hours including weekends and holidays.
- De-ice aircraft in accordance to specified standards.
- Loading and uploading baggage on and off the aircraft
- Able to attend required training,
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL Demands
Strenuous lifting and pulling fuel hoses (75-80 lbs.). Climbing and standing on step ladders while connecting fueling hoses overhead. Bending and stooping to manipulate hoses and connect aircraft tow bars. Must be able to carry 70-pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 70-pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet; Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Education
High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
