Traffic Control Manager
About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Traffic Control Manager to support infrastructure construction projects. This role sits within the OSP Construction & Engineering organization and reports to the Project Director.
The Traffic Control Manager is responsible for overseeing traffic control operations, including scheduling, permitting, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. This individual will play a key role in maintaining safe and efficient project execution across multiple job sites.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and evolving environments.
Responsibilities
- Review and implement traffic control plans across multiple projects
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and local authorities to ensure safe traffic flow
- Monitor and adjust traffic control measures as needed
- Develop and manage traffic control schedules
- Allocate resources and personnel to meet project timelines
- Adjust plans based on project changes or field conditions
- Obtain and manage required traffic control permits
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date permit documentation
- Enforce safety standards across all traffic control operations
- Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions
- Train and mentor field personnel on traffic control procedures and safety protocols
- Serve as a liaison with municipalities, stakeholders, and the public regarding traffic impacts
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications preferred)
- 5+ years of traffic control management experience
- Required certifications: ATSSA and OSHA
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD guidelines and traffic safety standards
- Experience with scheduling tools, permitting systems, and Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to perform physical tasks and lift equipment as needed
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

- Travel may be required depending on project needs

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

- Traffic Control Operations / anagement: 7 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- OSHA 30 Certification (Required)
- Traffic Control Certifcation (Required)
- Caltrans certification(s) (Preferred)
