South Florida Jet Center, one of Florida’s premier repair stations for Private Jet Charter, corporate aircraft, is seeking a Chief Inspector. The qualified candidate is responsible for the overall operation and compliance of aircraft inspection/maintenance and non-destructive testing by ensuring that all aircraft inspections/maintenance are properly performed on all completed work before it is released to the customer, and that the proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by the repair station are properly executed. The Chief Inspector is the primary liaison with all national regulatory agencies, (FAA and other CAA’s) to ensure all regulatory requirements are met. He/she makes and submits all changes to the repair station’s manuals that are required by the various national regulatory agencies. The Chief Inspector must have experience in the following CRS FAR 145/135 disciplines:
· Assists, supervises and directs all personnel assigned to inspection.
· Provides final aircraft and component airworthiness decisions and responsibility for those decisions.
· Collects and maintains a file on work orders and inspection forms in such a manner that the specific file pertaining to an article can be located within a reasonable length of time, per regulatory requirements.
· Develops and maintains a system of keeping records of checks and calibration of inspection tools and precision test equipment within the required calibration period, per regulatory requirements, as well as responsibility for all tooling and tooling preventative maintenance.
· Executes all required National Aviation Regulation (FAA and other CAA’s) required forms and the maintenance release pertinent to all items released to service by the repair station, per regulatory requirements.
· Ensures that rejected and unserviceable parts, after proper identification, are returned to the customer, or with the customer's permission, are properly disposed of.
· Creates, edits and maintains all required National Aviation Regulation (FAA and other CAA’s) required manuals in a current state.
· Ensures that all materials subject to shelf life are properly controlled and inspected on a regular basis and removed from service when the shelf life expires.
· Maintains and makes available a current library of all required maintenance manuals, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, FAA regulations, etc.
· Establishes and administers a corrective action system to identify quality problems and bring about their prompt, satisfactory resolution.
· Facilitates and ensures compliance with regulations for all aircraft and component importation and exportation and liaison directly with CAA’s, etc. representatives for those transactions.
· Performs review inspections on aircraft and components to monitor the quality of work performed and the adequacy of standards and equipment.
· Performs continuous work package audits to ensure that documentation is maintained in accordance with National Aviation Regulations (FAA and other CAA’s) and customer requirements.
· Directs the performance of “self-audits” of internal quality systems, at the request of the customer.
· Direct liaison with all onsite regulatory Auditors (FAA and other CAA’s) and Operators/FAA 135 auditors.
· Analyzes and interprets quality data to develop methods, procedures, and systems to improve the Quality Assurance functions.
· Facilitates and ensures compliance with regulation for all aircraft and component Major alteration and repair and liaison directly with FAA, etc. representatives for those transactions.
· Administers and manages those above duties delegated.
· Oversight/Management and responsibility of federally regulated training program
· Creation, implementation, oversight/management of quality related systems and projects such as Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Monitoring Program (QMP) etc.
· Any other assigned duties by the General Manager or Supervisor
A&P Licenses plus minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Chief Inspector or QC/QA background required. Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts: 21, 25, 65, 91, 135. This position may also require weekend on-call hours and holidays. General hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
