Position Overview
The A&P / IA Mechanic is responsible for performing and documenting high-quality maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fixed wing aircraft. You’ll work primarily on Cessna and Cirrus piston aircraft, with opportunities to support light turbine jets and complex systems troubleshooting.
This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in craftsmanship, thrives in a collaborative environment, and enjoys problem-solving in a modern, Part 145 repair station environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and component repairs on airframes, powerplants, and avionics systems.
- Inspections: Conduct 100-hour, annual, and progressive inspections in accordance with FAA and OEM standards.
- Technical Precision: Diagnose, repair, and sign off discrepancies with accuracy, ensuring all work meets regulatory and company standards.
- Documentation: Maintain precise maintenance records, logbook entries, and part usage documentation in compliance with FAA Part 145 requirements.
- Safety & Quality: Promote and adhere to Inflight’s safety culture. Lead by example in maintaining clean workspaces and upholding tool control standards.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate clearly with aircraft owners and pilots regarding findings, timelines, and maintenance recommendations.
- Professional Development: Stay current with OEM service bulletins, Cirrus service center standards, and participate in ongoing training opportunities.
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (Required)
- Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience (Part 145 experience preferred)
- Cirrus or Cessna piston experience highly valued
- Strong troubleshooting, electrical, and systems knowledge
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
Physical Requirements
- Lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Stand, bend, crouch, and stretch for extended periods
- Manual dexterity and coordination for tool and equipment handling
Working Conditions
- Work primarily in hangars with some exposure to outdoor weather and ramp operations
- Occasional loud noise from aircraft and ground equipment
- Full-time, Monday through Friday (8-hour shifts); overtime as required for aircraft return deadlines
