Job Overview
Veterans Alliance is hiring experienced A&P Mechanics to support commercial aircraft heavy maintenance operations in Tampa, Florida. This is a 6-month contract opportunity offering competitive pay and weekly per diem.
This role is ideal for mechanics with commercial aircraft experience, particularly those with Boeing 737 and Boeing 767 backgrounds, along with Airbus exposure.
Responsibilities
- Perform heavy maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial aircraft
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in an MRO environment
- Troubleshoot mechanical discrepancies and perform corrective actions
- Remove, repair, and replace aircraft components and systems
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation
- Ensure all work meets FAA, safety, and quality standards
- Accurately document maintenance actions
Qualifications
- Active A&P License – REQUIRED
- Minimum 2+ years of aircraft maintenance experience – REQUIRED
- Commercial aircraft experience – REQUIRED
- Experience in heavy maintenance environments – REQUIRED
- A320 experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Experience on 737 and 767 aircraft – STRONG PLUS
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass background check and drug screening
Compensation & Details
- Pay: $33.00/hr
- Per Diem:
- Up to $1,040/week per diem (must qualify)
- Contract Length: 6 Months
- Platform: Commercial Aircraft (737 / 767 Preferred)
- Location: Tampa, FL
