Senior Accountant
About the Role
Allied Aviation is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage critical financial operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable at our Corporate office in Sarasota, Florida. This is a full-time position with benefits, 5 days per week, 7 hours per day in the office.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who excels at maintaining financial accuracy, improving processes, and supporting business leadership with timely, reliable financial information.

Key Responsibilities
Billing & Accounts Receivable
- Oversee the full billing lifecycle, ensuring invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with contract terms.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, manage collections efforts, and resolve billing disputes.
- Maintain and reconcile AR aging schedules and support monthly close activities.
- Develop and improve billing workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Accounts Payable
- Supervise the AP cycle, including invoice validation, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
- Maintain vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and monitor AP aging to support cash‑flow planning.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls over disbursements.
General Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules as part of month‑end closings.
· Support payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees.
- Support audits by providing requested documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, related field (CPA or CPA‑track preferred).
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation range - $75,000 to $85,000 depending upon experience.
