Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced AW139 Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team and perform maintenance activities both domestically and internationally.
Duties
- Acts as a single point of reference for any maintenance related items associated with his assigned aircraft.
- Inspects work accomplished by others prior to signoff to ensure the job quality meets FAA standards.
- Reviews and ensures compliance with applicable service bulletins and airworthiness directives (ADs) on assigned aircraft.
- Serves as manager and coordinator for all maintenance on assigned aircraft.
- Directs and assists in the performance of inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and replacement parts.
- Coordinates assigned maintenance procedures and follows up on required parts procurement.
- Attends training, symposiums or maintenance conferences for assigned aircraft.
- Monitors and makes recommendations to flight crews about the use of operating procedures from a maintenance perspective.
- Produces a summary maintenance status report on a regular basis.
- Complies with inspections, standards, methods, and procedures per all applicable CFRs and manufacturer recommendations.
- Completes proper inspection records, reports, and forms required by the CFRs or manufacturer recommendations.
- Inspects aircraft and approves maintenance actions, as applicable, to meet airworthiness standards.
- Submits weekly timesheet for pay no later than 1600 every Friday, unless directed otherwise.
- Communicates with team members on a regular basis.
- Travels and occasionally works overtime hours.
- Ability to travel both domestic and internationally as well as work overtime hours.
- Ensures continuous safety performance through SMS reporting and engagement.
- Plans and develops maintenance and inspection procedures, in collaboration with the Director of Maintenance or Maintenance Supervisor, as appropriate, for company aircraft based on manufacturer’s recommended procedures.
- Tests, troubleshoots, repairs aircraft mechanical systems and aircraft hydraulic systems.
- Adjusts and performs rigging of aircraft systems.
- Tests, troubleshoots, repairs aircraft electrical systems and aircraft avionics systems.
- Services and inspects aircraft engines.
- Performs aircraft servicing.
- Maintains interior components.
- Performs structural repairs.
- Maintains and repairs hangar and ground support equipment.
- Supervises outside maintenance.
- Cleans and stocks aircraft.
- Performs ancillary duties and projects as assigned by DOM and Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assumes any duties delegated by the Director of Maintenance or Maintenance Supervisor, as appropriate.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Holds a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
- Ten or more years of aviation work experience.
- AW139 maintenance experience, required.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- Associate degree in Aeronautics, preferred.
- Safety Management System knowledge, preferred.
- Certified Aviation Manager, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal customers.
- Proven analytical problem solver.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Ability to transition to a multi-role position under Director of Maintenance coordination.
- Works well in a team environment, working towards the common goal of the department.
