Duties
- Install, modify, and troubleshoot avionics systems including communication, navigation, and flight control equipment on King Air aircraft.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD drawings to accurately assemble and integrate complex electronic systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve electrical or mechanical issues during installation or maintenance procedures.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and multimeters to verify system integrity and performance.
- Perform quality checks utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other inspection tools to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and FAA regulations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to fabricate or modify sheet metal components using welding, soldering, power tools, hand tools, and fabrication techniques.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and ensure all documentation aligns with federal aviation regulations.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA and AutoCAD for designing or interpreting schematics and layouts.
- Strong electrical experience with a solid understanding of avionics systems, aircraft wiring practices, and schematic analysis.
- Mechanical knowledge related to airframe assembly, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and vehicle or aircraft maintenance.
- Familiarity with military standards (such as AS9100) for quality assurance and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while handling aircraft components or equipment requiring the use of power tools and hand tools.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), aviation safety protocols, and aircraft maintenance procedures to ensure compliance during installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting work processes clearly and collaborating with team members across departments.
