We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Phoenix. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a strong operations skill set and excellent client relationship building skills. The applicant should have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within the logistics or transportation industry familiar with dispatching, routing, and operations. The position is responsible for operations in the market on site at customer locations and remote when not onsite with customers.

The successful candidate will have:
- A work history demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to communicate through various means (written and verbal) with diverse individuals, including internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a clear, concise, positive, and courteous manner. Ability to demonstrate respect to others, surroundings, and self.
- Experience working directly with customers and vendors.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ management experience in transportation, supply chain or logistics.
- Initiative to identify opportunities and issues and follow through on work activities to capitalize or resolve them.
- Ability to learn quickly and take positive action without being requested to do so.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Customer account management
- Manage driver routes and handle all driver issues within the region.
- Work in conjunction with corporate accounting staff regarding customer invoicing, vendor payments and COG efficiency.
- Plan and oversee implementation of policies, procedures, and programs for all areas of operations.
- Maintain weekly reports for region and submit them to the corporate office.
- Understand the process of capturing and maintaining margins within the market.
- P&L responsibility for assigned market.
- Maintain and audit IC settlements & Billing for accuracy.
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned account support for when a new customer does their first shipment.
- Dispatching, routing and Independent Contractor recruiting and management.
- Follow-up and follow through with each client once solutions have been implemented or issues identified within 24-48 hours of initial contact.
- Gain a clear understanding of customer’s business and service.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years' management experience in transportation, supply chain or logistics.
- The ability to build rapport, ask questions, and listen.
- Great communication and presentation skills.
- Transportation/ logistics experience is a must.
- The ability to research and learn things without oversight.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, energetic, charismatic, and able to think on your feet.
- High sense of urgency and results focused.
- Works through others and leads by example.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
